Question: Does a man possess his soul???
Answer: No, we absolutely do not possess our own soul! However, we do have the choice who will own it! Sin (the things we've done wrong) gives Satan (the fallen angel Lucifer) ownership over our soul. Satan will be able to lay claim to us, once we die, if we are still in our sin. All sin, along with those who are contaminated by it, will be eternally quarantined within the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). The devil’s best kept secret to most of the world is that the blood of Jesus Christ is the ONLY SOLVENT that can clean sin off our soul! The real question is whether a person loves their sin, and their selfish ways, more than the One who created them and who would save them from their sin. Watch the video and read the truth presented within the comic books below to find out how you can
get Jesus to wash the sin off your soul and be clean and forgiven today!
Are you a good person? Do you believe that the “scales of justice” in Heaven will balance in your favor or that God will just let you in? Are you 100% certain about it? God actually does love you and wants you to be with Him in Heaven, yet there is vitally important information to understand for a person to be granted entrance into Heaven.
# 1: The first thing to understand is that God is holy, which means in all that God thinks, says and does, He is completely pure, righteous and flawless. There are a few places in Scripture where God gives us a peek at what He is like up in Heaven and two of them in particular give us a rather stunning view. In both Isaiah 6:2-5 and Revelation 4:2-11, we see these awesome four living creatures (the covering Seraphim - extremely powerful angel-like creatures), each with six wings, surrounding God on His throne. With two wings they are covering their faces (or upper body), with two wings they are covering their feet (or lower body) and with their last set of wings they are hovering around the throne before God. They constantly are saying without ceasing “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is the Lord”.
Notice that the Seraphim did not say even one time that God is merciful, gracious, loving, kind, gentle or forgiving! The reason is because from out of God’s holiness flows all of His other attributes of love, mercy, grace, kindness, patience, forgiveness, etc. But, first and foremost, God is holy and pure, far beyond all else (HOLY3- to the third power).
So, how is this important to our gaining access to Heaven? Well, because God is so holy, He cannot have anything to do with sin, which defiles, contaminates and destroys everything it comes into contact with and He certainly doesn’t want it up in heaven ruining His home.
# 2: The second thing to understand that Sin is like a thick, black tarry substance that acts like a malignant cancer, growing and consuming everything it comes into contact with, and it covers every human soul, actively devastating and devouring the human race in its evil.
Who has sin? All of us do. Are you perfect? Have you ever lied, stolen, put something or someone else (including yourself) before God, wanted something that wasn’t yours, lusted after someone in your mind or even hated someone? According to God’s minimum standard of holiness (the Ten Commandments and Jesus further clarification of them - Exodus 20:1-17 & Matthew 5:21-28) doing any of those things is a violation against God and it shows us that we are lying, thieving, idolatrous, covetous, adulterous, murderers at heart (1 John 1:8).
We must understand that each sin, no matter how “small” we may think it is, earns us the death penalty (Romans 6:23). This is so because one drop of sin ultimately accomplishes the same effect as a whole bucket of sin. For once it touches us, it begins to feed on us and our life, then it spreads, enveloping and devouring us until it has completed its evil work and brought us to our death. This is why God hates sin and will pour His wrath out against it to destroy it, because He understands its appalling and deadly result on His creation.
# 3: So, how can we get rid of sin to be able to go and live with God in Heaven, where there will be no sin allowed? God showed us the way from the very beginning in Genesis, when He took an animal and killed it for the sinful disobedience of the founders of the human race, Adam and Eve. God was demonstrating to mankind that the blood of an innocent is needed to cleanse sin off of our souls, because sin demands and brings about death. However, an animal was only a temporary fix, because we continually sin. God knew that the only permanent solution could come from a substitutionary death of a perfect human sacrifice of innocent blood (to be put to death to pay sin’s penalty). But no human could fulfill this role because we all sin. So, God came Himself, in the form of the Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life and to be the sinless (innocent) sacrifice for us.
# 4: Know The Solution. This is why Jesus said He is the only way to God in Heaven, because His blood is the only legitimate solvent that gets sin off of our soul (John 14:6). The thing that most religious people (including the majority of those who identify themselves as being Christian) just don’t understand is that good works, being a “good person”, or trying to keep a religious set of rules or laws cannot remove sin off of our soul. This is why the prophet Isaiah said that “all of our good works are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6), because we try to use them like a rag to wipe sin off of our soul and the best we can manage to do is make a pile of dirty, black tar, sin contaminated rags. Yet, the sin still remains on us, ever growing, like a malignant cancer!
This explains to us why God could not accept Cain’s sacrifice (all of the best of his efforts and the choicest produce from the ground that he brought before God), and why God could accept Abel’s sacrifice of an innocent animal, because the blood of an innocent was needed to cleanse sin off of their souls (Genesis 4). Many today are still trying to do it Cain’s way, attempting to obtain righteousness and favor before God by their own good works and religious efforts, but these things do not have any real power over sin, to cleanse it off of our souls. Again, the blood of Jesus Christ is the only permanent solvent against sin to allow us to be pure enough to gain entrance into Heaven.
# 5: Apply The Solution. So, how do we obtain the blood of Jesus Christ, to cleanse sin off of our souls? Well, we must cry out to God and repent of our sin (abandon and turn away from our wrong doing against God and others). We must acknowledge that we do have a sin problem and agree with God’s solution (that Jesus Christ is God, that He came and took on human flesh and lived a sinless, perfect life, dying for the sin that is destroying our souls and that He rose again to prove that He has authority and power over sin and death). We must ask Jesus to forgive us, cleanse our soul with His blood and make Him both our Savior and our Lord, which means He is the real boss of us from now on, and the rest of our life is His to do with as He pleases, as He knows what is best for us.
Simply Pray Sincerely To God Something Like This: “Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of your saving blood and I acknowledge that You are the only One who can remove sin off of my soul. Please forgive my sin and cleanse me by Your perfect, valuable and innocent life’s blood, which you poured out for me on the cross. Come into me, make me Yours and fill me with Your resurrection life. I give You my life to do with what You will and I will obey You as my Lord and my God. In Your precious holy name, Lord Jesus, I pray, Amen (so be it)”. (Please read John 3:16 & 36, John 8:24 and John 14:6 and Mark 2:1-12, because Jesus is God and the only One we can be forgiven by, to be allowed into Heaven.)
